CBH Engineering lands RM27.7 million turnkey job to connect a 100 MW battery to the grid

CBH Engineering Holding has secured a RM27.7 million turnkey contract to build the interconnection facility for a 100 MW / 400 MWh battery energy storage system in Pahang, including the associated site works. The battery will connect into the Tenaga Nasional national grid.

The scope covers engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the grid connection, the part of a storage project that ties the battery safely into the transmission network. The contract runs from 8 April 2026 to 7 April 2027. The client was not named in the company's filing.

Grid interconnection is a specialised piece of every large battery project, and awards like this show the work spreading beyond the battery suppliers to the electrical and civil contractors who make the connection happen.

As Malaysia adds gigawatt hours of storage under programmes like MyBeST and LSS6, contracts to connect those systems to the grid will keep coming, and local engineering firms are positioning to win them.
